Today's Missions - Hot Commodities

Don Mondo has his fat thumb on the Charibdys galaxy and the neighboring governments are none too happy about it. That's a gob of tax dollars they're missing out on. The governments don't have the reach to make a move but they've started restricting the supply lines which is great news for you, it means there's plenty of work available to small ships with a knack for moving product.

Mission 1 - Orange You Glad?

Citrus is scare and oranges are trading at ridiculous prices. Don Mondo has a shipment lined up and needs cautious crews to move it.

Mission Cost: $600 (Fuel, Food and Supplies)
Reward: $15,000, +1 GRIT
Risks: Spoilage, Hijacking, Blockade Inspectors
70% - Spoilage, diminished reward ($1000-$13,000 based on EN)
10% - Hijacking, lose HP (5-35 HP Based on FP & SH)
2% - Blockade Inspectors - Complete Mission Fail (-1 GRIT)

Mission 2 - Pork Bellies

Mmmmm... Pork Bellies.

Mission Cost: $300 (Fuel, Food and Supplies)
Reward: $10,000, +1 GRIT
Risks: Spoilage, Hijacking, Blockade Inspectors
20% - Spoilage, diminished reward ($1000-$13,000 based on EN)
40% - Hijacking, lose HP (5-35 HP Based on FP & SH)
2% - Blockade Inspectors - Complete Mission Fail (-1 GRIT)

Mission 3 - Gold Digger

The sourdoughs mucking out the asteroid fields need more tools, picks, shovels, and robotic apendages. Could be a bumpy ride.

Mission Cost: $200 (Fuel, Food and Supplies)
Reward: $10,000, +1 GRIT
Risks: Hijacking, Asteroids
15% - Hijacking, lose HP (5-35 HP Based on FP & SH)
50% - Asteroids, lose HP (10-50 based on SH & EN)

Mission 4 - Break the Line

Don Mondo needs distractions as much as he needs skilled smugglers. Maybe you like getting shot at? Your costs are covered but expect to take some lumps for breaking the government blockade.

Mission Cost: $0 - All supply fees courtesy of Don Mondo
Reward: $10,000, +1 GRIT
Risks: Blockade Lasers, Government Capture
100% - Blockade Lasers, lose HP (0-90 HP Based on EN & SH)
5% - Government Capture, you still get rewarded but lose any unregistered weapons (-4 FP)

Sit out a round if the missions don't suit you -1 GRIT

I learned from Nicholas Van Rijn that violence is deplorable, and generally bad for profits. Best to leave mindless laser slugging to adolescent Ikrankanians. Tools are nice, but better to meet basic needs. Starving miners don’t make good customers.

The galaxy is full of races that want to buy things, and only some of them are carnivorous, so let the bacon-vores strain their ventilators with the smell of meat-candy. We seek bigger markets. Also, Azdel is a vegetarian, and it would be unkind to put that olfactory strain on him for an entire voyage.

Strive for the universal. The loneliness of the cosmos makes all wayfarers prone to homesickness.
