I was hoping for some mention of Kathy Acker in the article, as an earlier example of this kind of literary sampling and remixing. I wonder if some of her more blatant examples (and they were all pretty blatant) are in print nowadays… the estate of Harold Robbins could have a field day.

In general I would say any publicity is good publicity, but Borges doesn’t really need publicity.
