Well, to be fair, he is full of⌠fertilizer.
Theyâre just jealous because it wasnât THEIR moderators.
Whimpy whiner. Not a good look, Donny!
If heâs the powerful leader he claims he is, he shouldâve been able to master any âriggedâ debate situation.
Iâm surprised heâs not claiming he did. That heâs basically admitting he lost shows what a total knockout Harris delivered.
Do they ever say HOW the moderators were unfair?
I mean, Iâve heard them complain generally that live fact-checking is unfair. (Which, WTF??)
But Iâd love these RWNJs to cite an example of the unfairness, and defend their position.
âPerhaps men are too emotional to be President,â said Justin Wolfers , a professor of public policy and economics at the University of Michigan.
Stealinâ that⌠itâs going in my Vault of Understatements, opposite the Whine Cellar.
For my own well being, I just watched the highlights this morning and read the comments here; thanks everyone.
Because they kept asking Trump follow up questions and fact checking him? It practically became a meme - Trump won, despite the terrible and biased moderators.
Thatâs why I was tempted to skip it too, but Iâm glad I didnât. It was great to watch her master all aspects of her own performance while ALSO manipulating the hell out of Grampa Tromp. I had a great time for once, and even LOLed several times.
I apologize if anyone has posted an updated link already - but the original PBS simulcast link now goes to some post-debate commentary. As far as I can tell, this is now the link to the debate:
He and his partner were my comfort on CNN during the height of Covid-19. I donât watch CNN anymore since they became right of center, so I miss hearing his expertise. I did see that he made an appearance on MSNBC within the last couple of weeks, so I hope I see more of him there.
I have to moderate my controllable stress levels; it has a direct physical impact on my injured muscles and tendons.
Even listening to 45 for more than a few seconds makes my neck muscles start to clench, exacerbating my existing condition.
I watched about 10 minutes and ended up not sleeping well. Even watching Harris kick his ass was stressful. I was yelling at the moderators to mute his mike within 30 seconds.
The only thing I can control is how much I allow myself to be exposed to needless stressors.
Iâm very glad/relieved that Harris did what needed to be done and prevailed, but trying to watch blow for blow would have been a terrible idea.
The âbiasedâ moderators somehow granted Trump every opportunity to use extra time with unscheduled rebuttals to the point where he got some 10 more speaking minutes than Harris did. At the very least I can say that didnât help him in the slightest. On the flip side, Harris asked for extra time and was denied.
I wouldnât be at all surprised if a part of her strategy was to give Trump every inch of rope he needed to hang himself at every opportunity, which he of course did.
One moment that really stuck with me was when Harris tried rebutting Trump, and he said something like, âexcuse me, Iâm talking here <beat> sound familiar?â It only served to make him look small, weak, and petty. Clearly for this tall and brash man it must sting to get so rattled by this small and calm woman.
Clearly she wasnât the one who needed âboxes or artificial liftsâ to look like the bigger person throughout the debate.
And for all the âundecidedsâ who are like, âshe still didnât give enough details about her policyâ, I donât know what to tell you fucking people. A debate is not the time or place to go into deep policy proposals given the very short amounts of time available. Besides, did Trump outline a single bit of detail? No. Of course he didnât. He just repeated the same points heâs been repeating for years now (repeat after me: âtalking points are not policyâ).
He couldnât even answer a simple fucking yes/no question about if he wanted Ukraine to win against Russia despite being asked 3 times. He spent several minutes trashing the ACA and then when asked (repeatedly) if he had a plan to replace it the best he could come up with was something like, âwe are looking at optionsâ as if he hasnât had over 9 fucking years to come up with something. When asked how heâd deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, he couldnât even answer that â instead he went off on (yet another!) tangent about how âimmigrants are destroying the fabric of the countryâ. Cool story, Donny. The question was how will you do it? The moderators practically spoon fed him a list of multiple choice options he could have ran with.
But, I guess because he fucked up every question he was asked it was the mdoeratorsâ fault?
Iâll tell you, I donât think I like that guy very much.
