Surely that depends on the outcome of the Monster Truck Mud Wrestling match between Kanye and Ivanka in the primaries, no?

Have you looked at Biden’s actual policy proposals, and compared them to the current trumpster fire? Or compared the two administrations in which they’ve been VP?

Did he clearly lose the debate?

No, but Biden was (unexpectedly?) quick and on the ball. The debate fed into Biden’s strengths and maybe Bernie’s weaknesses. Bernie was running on the need for a structural overhaul of the entire system, and is really very good at making that argument, but it feels somewhat abstract when addressing an immediate crisis, as they were asked to do in the debate. Biden on the other hand was able to leverage his experience as Obama’s on-the-ground guy during emergencies and comfortably come up with really pretty good suggestions of things he would do immediately if he were in charge.

In some sense Bernie has already won: there are provisions in Biden’s platform that wouldn’t have been there if not for the leverage from Sanders (and also Warren), and I think Sanders is expecting to gain some more influence between now and August. Meanwhile, the campaign has pretty unambiguously demonstrated the popularity of some form of single-payer national health care with the American people, and while Biden’s platform only calls for a public option in ACA there is a good chance he can be pressured to make that option a really good one, especially if the Democrats can take the Senate in 2020 or 2022.

One’s a conservative asshole who let people die of HIV and wants to force you and the government to be subservient to his religion and the other says this.

Several pages of actions to harm lgbt people above - simple statement below.

Thanks for taking the time to write that excellent summary.

That bodes well for the general.

I do realise that they are two distinct individuals and I am aware that Pence is a homophobic asshole with some odd religious beliefs.

I hope I haven’t offended anyone. It wasn’t my intention to give offence though I was admittedly flippant.

What I meant was, that Biden is a generic older white guy politician. He’s not characterful at all. I know him mainly for the double act he had with Obama, but every time I see him lately he seems to be saying something stupid. And I do genuinely have to think when I see him or Pence on the news - Which one is he?

I’m not American, I don’t live in the US and I don’t have a vote in the election. But that’s not to say that I’m not interested in it or not affected by the outcome.

At some point Biden will have to do a televised debate with the Orange Shitgibbon and the only way to win that is to make the Shitgibbon look foolish. I’m not confident in Biden’s ability to do that. At this point.

I’m hoping the Shitgibbon will defeat himself but given everything that has happened in recent years, I’m not confident in that either.

I don’t think it’s possible to make Trump look more foolish than Trump already does.

His act is wearing thin - emulating him isn’t necessarily the way forward. Sure - push back when attacked- but focus on how you’re different and how you’re going to improve people’s lives.

Much more articulate- and naturally hued.

Yes, rather Churchillian really.

Edit:

Why is Trump pushing OANN recently?

It’s so obvious in retrospect!

There needs to be a T****News channel with 24 hour propaganda interspersed with commercials for Hydroxychloroquine.

Go full-on 1984 or GTFO!

Fox is obsolete. It was a product of Reaganites, the standard bearer for the shift in the GOP that accompanied Ronnie’s rise. As the GOP was gradually taken over by the Tea Party, the network was just able to shift in that direction. However, Trump increasingly seems to be part of the new Qanon movement, and that’s too much of a leap even for Fox.

It is another way to force the Overton Window more to the right.

I think he’s starting to realize that shit talking the younger generations is one of the worst things he’s done

I don’t think it helps that Youtube’s algorithm is broken with anything to the left of neoliberal.

No, libertarian socialists are not interested in watching far right propaganda, unless it is research. Why do I keep getting recommendations to watch this shit?

Anything marginally left of neoliberal will be followed by an autoplaying John Oliver or MSNBC clip. Watch anything remotely out there, politically, and it presents you with an endless string of alt-right douchebags. Interestingly watching any video about history, from any perspective at all, also pops up neo-nazis in your queue

Right now, I can point at the over 10,000,000 Americans who have lost their jobs because of a health crises, which makes a pretty nice talking point about how incredibly bad having health insurance be a perk of employment is.
