Well ok then…
Joe Biden Says ‘Unlike African Americans’ the Latino Community is ‘Incredibly Diverse’ And…Well…This Election 'Bout to be Long AF…
Listen: I know we all want Cheeto McButthole-Mouth out of the White House, but as Biden’s dog whistle slowly but surely morphs into a bullhorn, it’s getting harder and harder for us to justify casting that ballot in his name.
Biden’s strategy from here on out should be to shut the entire fuck up until November and let Trump continue digging his own grave. Maybe choosing a Black woman as a running mate who will snatch his caucasity-filled ass up when he starts to speak wrong will also help.

I caught that a couple of hours ago. I have no idea what to think or say about it. I guess my feelings are, you can count on Biden to say ridiculous things, display random weirdness, and have what will probably be a boring, run-of-the-mill presidency led by the committee of his handlers.
Which is better than purposeful, vengeful, lame-duck evil-fest led by someone who desperately wants to be America’s Führer, and burns with an orange hate most of us can’t even fathom.
This guy should just choose an intelligent Black woman as a running mate, then shut up and let her do all the campaigning.
I got one of these yesterday. The icing on the cake is that the cover letter was signed by Lionel Dripps. And I thought being a Malarkey was rough!
ETA: The address on the enclosed envelope was incorrect.
Yeah, when the assault allegation was still in the news, I remember an op-ed like that going by, basically saying “who would you rather have as an opponent, in terms of the likelihood of addressing your issues?” Although I suspect that’s exactly how more than a few people voted for Trump, in spite of himself.
( For example)
Was Romneycare not a modified version of a plan touted by the Heritage Foundation in the 90’s (or so)? Or is my memory failing me?
In any case, the ACA is (partly by accident, partly deliberately) the most conservative public health care approach that actually does the job. Hence the Republicans’ complete inability to come up with an alternative: any plans they prefer politically won’t do any good.
Oh goody, we get to be the rope in a superpower tug-of-war
Agreed, but that person will need nerves of steel and a lot of support. We saw the level of hostility that was directed at Hillary Clinton for years, and how that escalated during her candidacy. The negativity and disrespect shown toward members of The Squad in Congress is ongoing.
Most recently, we’ve seen the backlash against once-beloved Oprah*. Those who feel threatened by women and Black people (especially in positions of power) have been emboldened. So I shudder to think how much worse they will get when faced with a Black woman as a VP candidate.
*Those who are racist and anti-feminist never liked her, and probably feared her influence.
Wedgie that issue- Grift the marks.
“ Next week, APP will debut two ads in battleground Michigan that accuse former Vice President Joe Biden, who has generally used his platform to promote protections for LGBTQ youth, of endorsing “gender change treatments for minors,” including surgery and hormone therapies for transgender youth. One of the ads, featuring former drag queen Kevin Whitt, warns that children “need time” to develop a stable sense of their gender. “As a young teen, I felt I should be a woman,” Whitt says. “Seventeen years later, I felt I should be a man again. Treatments to change the gender of a minor are very dangerous and irreversible.”
“ That brings me to Wallbuilders , home to Christian nationalists and sanctimonious phonies; David Barton, Rick Green and Tim Barton. Their story is titled: Former Transgender Warns of Gender Hysteria Harming Children . Kevin Whitt was never transgender. He is a gay man who was a sometime drag entertainer and a full time crossdressing prostitute, … allegedly.”

I haven’t dug in yet, but I’m going to hazard a wild guess that the takeaway is “he’s a gonif and a schnook.”
According to @Fang, it was the Clinton plan from the 90s, but I don’t remember enough about it off the top of my head…
That’s why I’ve got my fingers crossed for Duckworth to be the pick.
It’s harder to come sideways at a badass decorated military vet who’s disabled; and the support from the military would be substantial.
The Clintons were proposing ‘single-payer’, ie - the public option eliminated from the ACA. In the early 90’s, Boomers were still working stiffs, so comparisons to Medicare didn’t resonate.
It’s not the same. The Heritage proposal was a replacement for Medicare. It also focused on catastrophic coverage - the intent was to make Americans pay private companies for the free emergency room provision they are currently getting from the EMTALA.
