2020 Election Thread (Part 2)

The election is certified- and good luck trying to throw Fetterman out if he doesn’t want to leave. Met him - he’s huge. Felt like I was looking up a tall building. I was a child next to him.

Hope I’m not jinxing anything but Georgia is looking pretty good tonight with a little over half the votes counted so far.

Writing to you from Texas, a majority minority state.

I just want to repeat it over and over to folks here: “America has very few red states and too many voter suppression states.”

Organize, organize, organize.

James Comey is the last person in the entire goddamn universe that I want to hear from about proper prosecutorial behavior.

You know what fosters trust, James? Prosecuting people who break the fucking law. Jesus Christ.

You know how Americans have laughed at the videos of parliamentarians in other countries get into ridiculous fistfights on the chamber floor? I don’t think Americans will have much reason to smug about that much longer. A return to the kind of physical violence in Congress we though we left behind after the 19th century (most famously the caning of Sen. Sumner) is inevitable in this political climate.

How many months till Trump becomes a nothing politically? The R’s looking to run in 2024 will want to distance and not let him have any more influence than the absolute minimum they can get away with. He’s going to be a public embarrassment and won’t have any power shortly. And is very likely to be facing state prosecution and tons of lawsuits- many of which have been on hold.

I’m guessing April till he’s a nobody- and screaming into the void.

What are the rules for Congress, open carry or concealed carry?

Currently no carry is permitted.

In case anyone wants to watch/listen to the live feed on the count of electoral votes, it’s streaming on youtube via PBS News Hour (and probably other outlets as well):

Has not started yet, but should soon.
