Putin’s Puppets Admit Their Army Has Been a Total Embarrassment
They haven’t yet gone so far as to blame the troops, but they’re getting there. Right now they’re still blaming the West and blaming the fact that the Russian economy isn’t a totalitarian arms manufacturing machine.
Instead of being able to quickly target Ukrainian troops and moving vehicles with laser- or satellite-guided bombs, Russia has largely shown it can hit only fixed targets like military buildings or civilian population centers — either by firing volleys of unguided artillery shells and rocket attacks at them, U.S. officials said, or by using large guided ballistic missiles and air-launched cruise missiles that often fail or are inaccurate.
Russian warplanes continue to rely on unguided bombs that are crude, compared even with those the United States built immediately after World War II. Whereas the standard American Mark-80 series of bombs used by NATO can be readily reconfigured for different missions and have a forged steel body, the Russian counterpart is welded together. One senior intelligence official said the Russian design favors cheap mass production over accuracy, and requires much less assembly before flight — which makes those bombs a more attractive option for use by comparatively untrained Russian forces.
I’ve been working in several African countries some years ago, I’ve paid lengthy visits to many others. I came to know wonderful people (awful ones, as well, but the vast majority great and diverse human beings).
Please take note and ask yourself if you can contribute, in small ways, in your daily life, by investing your time and money ever so slightly differently, to make the outcome just an tiny bit less terrible for the whole world.
Whether or not that’s true it seems to fit a certain pattern. There were a lot of claims/rumors that Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro suffered from colon cancer as well.
Also the Russians will run out of fuel in 2 weeks. Handwaving distraction from the core underlying issue:
What we, the taxpaying public, are actually learning about Russia is that it has almost no military capability to speak of, and it seems like it never has. Their troops are poorly trained and poorly-led. And it’s systematic. The equipment it has doesn’t work well. Systematic. The stuff that works isn’t being used properly. They are using outdated equipment as front-line forces. A recent video showing a Russian helicopter dropping troops on Snake Island was an HI-8 (NATO reporting Hip). That is a 1960s helicopter that has seen almost no meaningful service upgrades since it first flew. Downed front-line jets are being shown with off-the-shelf GPS units taped to the cockpit to help guide the pilots. The Russians have absolutely zero capability for a combined-arms campaign. That’s insanity. They have a vastly superior Air Force, but cannot control the skies because they seemingly don’t have the technological capability to conduct airborne battle management along the lines of what NATO and the US has been doing since the 1970s.
If the Pentagon “knows” that Putin has terminal bowel cancer, they surely have known all the rest of this stuff about the Russians all along. All-a-fucking-long. And yet where’s the story about the trillions of tax dollars apparently wasted countering the “Soviet/Russian threat” for the past seven decades? Western intelligence can somehow nail down a medical diagnosis, and can do a damn good job of predicting when and where the Russians would invade, and can help Ukraine target ships and command-level brass down to the square foot, but somehow missed the big old glaring “the entire military structure is built on sand?” Shit, talk about Russian graft? They’re a bunch of fucking amateurs.
Fuck this timeline and the dilapidated Russian truck it rode in on.
Buried in hagiography for Reagan, for the most part. People who study these matters seriously already know that this “threat” was confirmed to be an empty one almost immediately after the collapse of the Soviet empire. However, three decades later the myth that it was St. Ronnie who defeated the Commies by matching their military might remains a persistent one (encouraged by defense contractors and their cronies in the Pentagon).
It’s not going away, either. Reagan the Liberator is going to loom large in DeSantis’s new anti-Communist holiday.
