Human Rights Watch urges Ukraine to investigate its alleged use of banned land mines.
Human Rights Watch has urged Kyiv to keep its pledge to investigate the alleged use of banned land mines by the Ukrainian military as new evidence of land mine use surfaced, according to a report published on June 30.
Prigozhin’s media empire is shutting down.
Director Evgeny Zubarev says the infamous trolley farm had existed since 2009 and confirms the many investigations into it were correct:
“It was important to discredit opposition journalists. They were trying to destroy the country!”
I think the Russians being what they are, they would happily have welcomed Prigozhin into the city, and just as happily chased him out again. Even the soldiers have no loyalty to either side, and only throw their lot in when they feel they know which side will win.
Which will play a role in the current offensive, as many will only defend if they feel it’s the best way to stay alive, and surrender once they realize that is how to stay alive.
Russian state TV is now doubting the effectiveness of Wagner which took much longer to “liberate a less important Bakhmut” in comparison to Mariupol". Hilarious.
The biggest irony is that this will actually work and in a few weeks, Wagner will be condemned by Russians who get all their news from TV.
Sure, from the outside this is classic “we have always been at war with Eastasia” talk, but the discrediting is necessary before the mercenaries all get defenestrated. It’s just so disappointing to see over and over again…
Satellite hacks are rare and are disclosed even more rarely. The attack on Viasat service used by the Ukraine military and others in February 2022 has been seen as one of the most successful hacking attacks of the war. SpaceX’s Starlink service became a vital alternative inside the country, and it has withstood multiple hacking attempts since then.
Probably fits Putin better, but then it gets difficult to determine if you’re talking about censored media or windows. Which reminds me of something from a few days ago.
Retired Australian Maj. Gen.: Putin feels a deep sense of personal betrayal and Prigozhin will really have to watch his back for some time to come now. I believe he’s staying in the only hotel without opening windows in Belarus.
Now that guy’s group of mercenaries I like. Don’t get fooled by the costumes, behind that is a level of professionalism very few armed forces achieve. Centuries of constitutional memory help a lot with that, of course.
Oh goody, now even the Russian REMF’s will be going hungry, because it seems they did this without making sure enough new cooks were there to take over. I am sure they will gladly tighten their belts out of patriotism and whatnot.
I’m sure that some enterprising officer will step up to fill the gap by selling off (at a premium , konechno) some of the rancid vintage 2010 MREs he “diverted” to his garage.
