I didn’t say it’s fine, I just don’t like purity crusades, because life is often not binary and mobs shouting LOCK HIM UP THEY ALL THE SAME tend to be wrong more often than not.
I’d kind of like to hope the folks who are OK with public masturbation aren’t thinking of the children.
So what did you do…?
I really wanted to talk about the poor choice of material for his film, and wonder whether it was part of a personal journey of atonement or a last gasp attempt at cashing in before the day of reckoning came. But people started comparing him to rapists and things got out of hand.
Considering that what Louis C.K. very likely did on multiple occasions to a number of women is a sex crime, and rape is a sex crime, and are both in that “sex crime” category, why would comparing these things be so totally, er, off-base?
You’ve basically come off as saying that because one simply causes mental harm (and economic, if it affected careers in a negative way), versus physical harm, it should basically be ignored.
Well, you’re that guy on the internet. Woot.
Point out where i said it should be ignored. I’ll wait. I just pointed out that one thing is not exactly like the other, and the universe is not binary. Somebody stealing an apple is just not as bad, in my book, as somebody stealing a pension fund, but they are both crimes against property.
Don’t be like “what?”
Don’t be… correct?
Unfortunately, my initial cynicism seems pretty justified, just from reading some the of comments posted…
