That’s great, but consider that Trump was famous for using unsecured personal devices for much of his communications. Who’s to say he wasn’t using a burner phone?
Just to be clear, Andy Borowitz’s column is satire, and the kind of gig that I wish I could get. Always very short, never that funny.
I’d love to see Trump doing that @anon61221983. Please find that .gif if one exsists. I bet he uses two hands and bumpers.
Over the line!!
25 x (any negative number) = a very negative number.
Meh. She’s selling books and a bit of an alarmist author at that. The feds probably already have the records they need. Accept for legal procedure, they didn’t really need Agent Orange to hand them over. Most importantly they now know what didn’t get handed over. It sure made the investigators job easier when it comes down to discovering the really juicy calls. Clearly there’s a giant 7 hour window of really good stuff and ‘Ol 45 made it allot easier to pinpoint. There are times in court where the lack of evidence (destroyed evidence/ testimony) can be seen as evidence in and of itself and force the assumption that the suspect is guilty. Otherwise, why destroy the records at all. Which destroying records (federal records at that) is highly illegal in and of itself. This is a legal blunder on 45’s behalf and it points incrimination directly at 45 and his staff.
I doubt he’d lower himself to such a working class game…
It’s Nixon… what did you expect!
She’s not wrong, though. We all saw what they did. We all KNOW they broke the law, and there are far too few people willing to hold them accountable.
And BTW - writing books is a job that people should get paid for. There’s not reason to dismiss people for doing a part of that job.
People call her “alarmist” the way Cassandra got called “alarmist.”
Sarah Kendzior has called it early and often.
Her prescience is what is truly alarming.
Is this missing phone record stuff a distraction?
How much more evidence does a sane prosecutor need against the former guy, in order to bring charges for treasonous crimes nearly 15 months ago?
Is Merrick Garland running down the [statute of limitations] clock?
Given who Garland is connected to, will he actually file charges against the former guy?
I don’t always agree with her, but she’s often right… lots of people were dismissing that Trump was going to be a dangerous president, because they believed he was an idiot… well, he was and is an idiot, and he was STILL a dangerous president. We need to put aside the idea that authoritarianism needs an actual genius to be carried off. It does not. It needs someone willing to ignore the law and all the norms that help support democracy to get and stay in power. It needs someone who cares little for human life and is willing to stir up a crowd to use force. It needs someone that people will rally around, which for some dumbass reason turned out to be a faux-billionaire who is an asshole. Trump is not smart, he just wants power and is willing to break rules to get it, and his perceived wealth (which far too many Americans view as a sign of intelligence and god’s favor) made him popular with a some, as they aspire to be like him (so rich that they don’t have to treat others as they’d like to be treated). All the elements were right there, and Kinzidor put all these issue together with a well-versed understanding of American history and the existing problems in our systems.
But you know, she’s not giving this stuff away for free on a street corner, so she must be scamming us all… even though she’s often right… /s
Sure, seems reasonable. I mean it’s not like anything important was happening that day. Why not turn off the phone, put your feet up and watch some TV.
