I wonder how the kid knew to call 911. A few decades ago I read of a similarly-aged kid calling 911 in a more appropriate situation, and when queried where they’d learned that, it was from reading the front matter of the Yellow Pages.

I’d imagine they just hit the emergency call button from a locked iPhone/Android.
