Yet another case of everything they do being projection. They think the democrats are run by a cabal because they are run by a cabal (not so shadowy, they admitted on the news that they passed their last tax bill only to please their wealthy donors). They call for transparency when Democrats are in power because they know how badly transparency would hurt them so they figure it would also hurt the Democrats.
ETA: Real transparency would be awfully painful for the Democrats, that doesn’t mean but I don’t think Jr’s reasons for believing that are reality-based.

I’m not much on patriotism, so I can take or leave the “serve our country” bit, but the discussion of guns has to be reframed away from individuals being allowed to do whatever they want and towards some sort of collective good. The movement called “conservativism” is so focused on individual rights it has no space for responsibility, duty, caution, or any of the other goods that it wants to be associated with.
