Is the reverse of this of Kim Jong Un, about hip high?

(Thinking about the nukes discussions when Donny allowed Ivanka of all people to be present, instead of someone with actual experience)

Who the heck decided that wearing those things was a good idea, much less the etiquette and Flag Pin Code?

two more links in the chain…

trump’s tariffs are causing china to source significantly more soybeans from brazil.

and soybean production in brazil is a significant factor in deforestation.

i haven’t seen anyone put the two together yet. but the increase in burning, it seems, can be traced back to 45’s utterly worthless “deal making” skills

Mr Araujo said: “We want to be together in the endeavour to create development for the Amazon region which we are convinced is the only way to protect the forest. So we need new initiatives, new productive initiatives, that create jobs, that create revenue for people in the Amazon and that’s where our partnership with the United States will be very important for us.”

In other words, “we had to destroy the forest to save it.” Complete and utter bollocks.

Once we start in on a place, it always seems reasonable to take the next little increment. What’s the harm, a little more won’t hurt. The next road, the next house, the next settlement, village, township, subdivision, industrial park, distribution hub, the next shopping mall, the next city, on and on. Yesterday’s “reasonable compromise” becomes tomorrow’s status quo on top of which the next compromise is made.

Conservation is to reduce the human footprint, not expand it.
