What about Moscow Mitch, anyway?
Shouldn’t he be subject to some investigations of his own behavior by now?

67-33 isn’t a tie, though. Constitutionally, he can’t vote in that case. If he does anyway and the Republicans let him, there’s really no point in paying attention to any of it anymore, because the rules are just what they say there are.
With the announcement that the next G7 will be at Trump’s property it’s clear that they simply don’t care anymore about optics or the appearance of impropriety. It’s as if to say “we’re going to do everything illegal, unethical, and improper right in front of your face and there’s nothing you can do about it.” And so far, it’s working.
Trump’s base doesn’t care as long as they feel like they are “winning” (whatever that means), his Republican cohorts are to frightened to do anything because they value power over principles, and the supposedly non-partisan judiciary has been heavily gamed in Trumps favor thanks to McConnell’s machinations during the Obama presidency.
I’ve pretty much given up any hope of things ever getting better.
History shows, the pendulum always swings back. And sometimes it has a blade attached.
(getting into the Halloween spirit!)
Can we do the John Oliver “We Got Him” skit now? Pretty please?
And I especially love the “oh this is just how foreign policy works” justification. Yes, it’s perfectly normal to say “we won’t give your country foreign aid if you don’t <demand>”.
It’s not normal when <demand> happens to be “investigate the family of a political opponent”.
For those who think Trump has gotten worse…this is how he was before he’d even started office:
Then Trump turned back to me. “So why is it so broken? The VA.”
“Well, there are many reasons, starting with — ”
“I think we need to let the veterans go wherever they want.”
“Well, there needs to be a coordinated effort — ”
“I’ll tell you what: we’re going to fix this thing. If you were in charge, what would you do first?”
“I would make sure that we had — ”
“Do you think we can fix this thing?”
“Yes, Mr. President-Elect, I do.”
We went on like this for another 30 minutes or so while the others wandered in and out.
I wonder if he’ll be next on the chopping block.
I think we’ve reached the point in this timeline where, worn thin by Trump’s constant use of the Stupidity Drive, other realities begin to bleed into our own.
I wouldn’t have guessed that mittens would be the first GOP senator to remember where he left his spine.
Isn’t that where all conspiracy hate groups hold their meetings?
I was thinking that if Trump wins again, but the democrats have the house and the senate, it will be time to just wallow in corruption. Like pass bills enacting laws you want that also just give Trump cash. Like the Medicare for All and $50M for Trump Act. You can write right in the law that this payment is not considered a bribe and is exempt from any other law or ethics rules. And if the Republicans complain that it’s corrupt, just say, “Yes it is!”
I would have, actually. I’m not a fan of the Mormon faith, but there’s no doubt it does instill a strong sense of morality that would be hard to shake.
But… but… posting that image makes you just as bad as the neo-Nazis!
