He really never knows how to read a room. Farmers don’t want to be bought. They want to grow things and sell them. Trumps tariffs have killed off so many farm exports that some farmers, especially soybeans farmers, have no reason to grow anything. Why buy a big tractor to have it sit idle?

I was just looking at some sites for rescued dogs today (it’s been about 9 months, and I think by this spring, I’ll be ready for another dog) and I couldn’t help but notice that even rescues cost around $300 to adopt. This is probably another one of those situations like all those men being horrified that she paid a completely normal amount of money for a woman’s haircut, just because they go to a barber for a cheap buzz cut.
Things cost money. Most things cost more money now than they did 10 or 20 years ago, despite the fact that wages have stagnated. ‘Reasonable’ costs sure do seem unreasonable these days, but don’t fault the people who have to pay them.
