The Republicans are OK with the president cosplaying Don Corleone. They’re OK with his obstruction of Congress. They’re OK with him assassinating high ranking members of foreign governments. They’re OK with his self-dealing, nepotism, ignorance, illiteracy, and epically terrible hair.
The thing that really gets their dander up is Adam Schiff calling out their cowardice and utter lack of independence?
From where I’m sitting, it looks like Trump and McConnell have forced the entire Republican caucus (you too, Joe Manchin) to wear remotely operated Taser-brand buttplugs and they’re lovingly caressing the controls, just waiting for Mitt Romney or Lisa Murkowski to wibble about evidence or witnesses.

I’ve long thought that too. The timing of so many of his “crazy” comments has often seemed like well-timed distraction. Quite like the killing of the Iranian general as a dog-wagging distraction from impeachment. The corporate press, especially, pays little attention to the behind the scenes fuckery of his minions, while blaring headlines instead about his latest insane Tweet or helicopter-side utterance.
