The impeachment was never intended to succeed; it was always political theatre. Even if the Dems were unified behind it, it was never going to pass the Republican Senate.
The reason they went after the Ukrainian mess instead of Trump’s countless other crimes is because most of those were things that are common bipartisan sins, and they’d like to keep it that way.
They’ve milked it for what they thought they could get out of it, so now they’re shutting it down.

Sadly, I lean more and more toward this interpretation.
I mean, they had Trump dead to rights on Obstruction of Justice. Mueller report said so unambiguously.
But, this timeline is so bonkers Epstein’s dead man switch could trigger tomorrow, and it’ll be a whole new shitshow that would ultimately disappoint everyone involved.
