Unfortunately, for folks with any honor or personal morality, there is not much choice. Either jettison any vestige of self-respect or leave. This means that any āadults in the roomā left have chosen power over honor and deserve neither. This administration is a disgrace, especially when you consider that they have set up a situation where Bolton and Tillerson are considered the honorable good guys! (

Of course someone probably had to point out that snub to Trump, who is too unfamiliar with - well, anything - to notice it. Either that or they decided not to point it out to Trump since being the one who points it out probably means being the one who has to hear Trump yelling about it for an hour.

Romney also knows that his vote to remove the president from office will bring consequences. Already there is a bill in the Utah legislature that would allow voters to remove a sitting senator. He expects worse in the days ahead.
