So I heard yesterday that Susan Collins was once the Senator with the highest popularity in their own state and is now the lowest. Like they are just toast. If you leave out electoral success as a motivation, what the hell explanation does that leave? I guess the same one that got Collins to vote for Kavanaugh. They’re just goddamned awful.
they had their chance, that was it
who else did they think was going to deal with this for them
“I know the tiger eats people. I know the tiger will eat me if I try to step off. But as long as I keep riding it…”
They think of themselves as aristocrats, not as public servants. They don’t have a job in their minds (well, other than getting re-elected), they have privileges. Being a senator is their prize. How dare people expect them to do something hard uncomfortable.
Some people really don’t give a shit about the world, do they?
Next up - DHS will be directed to find that New York is not compliant with Real ID even for its ‘enhanced’ driver’s license and that New York licenses are not valid to enter US Government facilities or TSA checkpoints. Oh, and not valid as ID when applying for a passport, to stop that workaround.
Following that: extend the travel ban to other Blue States.
And people will vote for him just to get their travel privilege back.
Oh cool, Barr is granting himself more powers to shut down investigations into Trump:
not a slip of the tongue…
Why, he’s just stating that he wishes Pelosi a long and illustrious tenure as Speaker. /s
We’re sending you a present:
Should fit right in. Like he belongs here!
Somehow I doubt that’s just to block employee information.
I wish lawyers, judges and government bodies would stop accepting those as magic words to avoid testifying. If they do recall, then that is perjury. Impanel a jury and see if 12 reasonable people believe that they actually don’t recall.
The take over is happening fast. Putin should be happy AF.
Am I reading this right?
“Here, regardless of rigor, our conclusion is straightforward because the members—29 Senators and 186 members of the House of Representatives—do not constitute a majority of either body and are, therefore, powerless to approve or deny the President’s acceptance of foreign emoluments,” the opinion reads.
You might very well have a case, buuuuut you didn’t win enough elections, so you don’t get to enforce the law? Is To The Winner Go The Spoils the…law of the land? I mean I get the weird parsing of “technically you’re suing for injury against congress, and you don’t represent congress with those numbers” but still. fuck.
