šŸ–• šŸŠ 🤔 A Continuing Round-Up of Trumpian Events šŸ–• šŸŠ 🤔

Patrick Farley:

Think of the Conservative Think Tank system as a parody of the university system; a network of ā€œinstitutesā€ all founded to support an ideology, whose ā€œscholarsā€ write ā€œreportsā€ and conduct ā€œstudiesā€ which surprise! – all re-affirm the correctness of their institute’s ideological premise.

If you’re thinking of ā€œCreation Scientistsā€ whose papers are ā€œpeer-reviewedā€ by other Creationists, you already understand how Think Tanks operate. It also helps to picture a crowd of lunatics clustered together, peeing down each others’ legs.

As someone on Twitter noted the other day, if you’re upset that unemployment is paying better than minimum wage, you’re not a ā€œjob creatorā€, you’re a poverty exploiter.

Although, in the current stupid, upside-down, inside-out timeline, I’m not sure I could say never. Even AC could have a stopped clock moment. Of course, by definition, those are fleetingly brief before it goes back to being wrong again.

Yeah, the way to look at the situation is to say: wow, look at that, the broken clock happens to be right for exactly this minute of the day…and then when the minute passes it goes back to being the same broken clock it always was. You don’t set your watch by a broken clock in that one special minute.

and truth be told, the whole point was to stop people from going to work, and since that’s still needed in most places, the extra pay is just fine

( also, since people at the lowest side of the income gap tend to have to spend most everything they get - and since you want economic activity in order to avoid a deep recession… it’s all win really. )

The catalyst event is different, but the sentiment still applies.

So, he’ll have to make sure he only appoints people who won’t recuse themselves on the case of whether or not their appointments were legit.

Sooooooo… toxic masculinity is the reason why he appeals to them?

The three leading statistical predictors of voting GOP:

  1. Whiteness
  2. Maleness
  3. Wealth

The core of Trump’s base are middle and upper class white men who are frightened by the prospect of losing their existing privilege.

Knowing @Wanderfound, he’s probably saying that it wasn’t ever great, because those dudes ruined (and continue to ruin) everything!

And, it seems to me, he’d be right yet again.
