No doubt that Navarro is using Gellman as his source.
But the white whale here is proof of a stolen election. This book does not provide it. The case it puts forward is circumstantial — and nothing new. Much is made of “suspicions” in Texas and “irregularities” in Illinois as if such charges are, in themselves, dispositive. In the wake of 2020, we should know better than that. And so should a political historian of the mid-20th century: If fraud was a feature of elections in that era, so were accusations of fraud, wielded as a political cudgel.
This is … I don’t even know. A music festival that’s supposed to be raising money for veterans or something decided to invite Kyle Rittenhouse for God knows what reason. That cause the headliner and most of the other booked bands to nope right out of the festival.
Now, the festival organizer has issued this lovely statement:
“What’s up? Tyler here, owner, CEO and founder of Shell Shock. And guess what? I’m here to tell you, you’re not punk, you’re not hardcore. You people, the people that are driving trollies and the people that are talking sh*t, you guys are the mentally ill portion of society. You guys are the ones that are manipulated. You guys are the ones that sold tickets to.
Every single person and every single band and every single promoter and every single outlet that I’ve talked to have told me ‘I’m conservative, but the fans…’ The lynch mob here to take down ‘Shell Shock‘ will not win. It doesn’t matter, ’cause guess what, you can’t kill spirit. You can’t kill punk. And you can’t f*cking kill ‘Shell Shock‘.”
I’m sorry, what? As @anon61221983 can tell you, punk is not now, and absolutely has not ever been, conservative. What the fuck is this asshole on about?
Translation: “I am angry, and I like angry music, and I haven’t once stopped to listen to the music I love to realise that the things they’re angry at and the things I’m angry at are not the same things.”
Or: “I don’t have the self-awareness to realise that the angry music I love is angry at me.”
Just another crying conservative snowflake. Aside from his complete misunderstanding of the art and artists he is trying to make money off of, he’s obviously full of shit. Every band he’s talked to hasn’t identified as conservative, because bands are pulling out of his show because of his bullshit politics and platforming of another conservative snowflake. Enjoy your cover band headliner, asshole. You were never punk and Shell Shock is dead.
Ohhh…he means “punk” in the sense of “a petty criminal, hoodlum, or thug”. That’s extremely confusing when you’re talking about music, so I guess it’s nice of him to invite a killer like Rittenhouse to clarify what he’s celebrating.
Yeah, it’s certainly anti-establishment, and certainly some conservatives identify as that… but frankly, there were raging fights over this shit in the 80s in punk scenes everywhere. Many of the (mostly white boys/men) who thought of themselves as counter-cultural, but conservative ended up leaving punk scenes and being part of skinhead scenes, which tended to be more patriarchal, especially on the right side of the spectrum.
There are certainly some conservatives who try to claim they’re punk, but they are the same ones who would gatekeep scenes to keep out women and POC…
He’s been interviewed by Ari Melbar several times. It did not help his case with either the courts or the public. He’s been terrible and self incriminating.
They keep having rallies where everyone behind Trump is wearing gear associated with working class labor… like hardhats. I’m guessing lots of those people aren’t blue collar workers either.
