Glad he’s out of public life, but I’ve met a couple of people like this – they’re deeply wounded souls.

It’s not that deep. He lies because he has consistently gotten things from lying. And has almost always gotten away with it.

I really don’t understand the need to constantly assume that the person who is doing shitty things must be damaged in some way… sometimes, people are just assholes, and even if there is some emotional issue at hand, the person is STILL ultimately responsible for their behavior, especially when it’s on this level of grifting…
