cover up an ā€œaffair?ā€ as in, two people witha mutual sexual attraction? Hmmmm, seems more likely this was the amount promised to her in the first place, and like he does with all contractors he stiā€¦evaded payment, and she had to threaten to go public just so heā€™d make good on the contract.

Not saying all porn stars are prostitutes, but I AM saying I canā€™t imagine anyone spending time with Trump unless they expect to get paid.

Somebody fucked up. Isnā€™t this why we have an Emergency Broadcast System? Why the hell is this type of message going out on social media?

Sooo much confidence in the current regime right now. /Extreme S

2018 is going to be one weird year.

(Not directly trump related but, it soon will be,)

It is why we have the emergency alert system, which has been augmented to send text messages to cellphones, because thatā€™s where the eeyballs are now.

(Incidentally, many of the devices that are used for the alerts in radio and tv stations are sitting out, exposed to the Internet. One should not screw with them though, as there are federal penalties.)

Understood. But, it seems to me that social media platforms on the internets could be hacked to send out false alerts pretty easily by say, Russia, North Korea, etcā€¦ federal penalties need not apply.

Unfortunately, I donā€™t know that the official Emergency Broadcast System is much better in that regard.

In addition, spoofing messages would likely still cause quite a panic. How many people receiving an official looking ā€œshelter in placeā€ message, are going to stop and question if they are receiving it through the right channels, when the missiles are due in 20 min?

Just how bad is this map for Democrats? Itā€™s bad enough that it may be the worst Senate map that any party has faced ever, or at least since direct election of senators began in 1913. Itā€™s bad enough that Democrats could conceivably gain 35 or 40 seats in the House ā€¦ and not pick up the two seats they need in the Senate.

Donā€™t believe me? Check out the race-by-race ratings put forward by independent groups such as the Cook Political Report, Inside Elections1 and Sabatoā€™s Crystal Ball. They suggest that Democrats are more likely to lose Senate seats next year than to gain them ā€” and that while thereā€™s a plausible path to a Democratic majority, itā€™s a fairly unlikely one.

This one is funny to me because (with no real proof) Wikileaks probably did more to safeguard Assange from the fallout than secure a path out for Manning - but even if (an entirely implosible if) Assange and Russia were tight back itā€™s immaterial since Manning and Assange are not tight.

Susan Hennessey is unable to take her own advice.

Forget the Wrath of Khan. I am finding the IDGAF of Khan (the bored reading of the newspaper? Briliant.) far more entertaining.
