I absolutely agree that this is probably just another game on NK’s part. The difference this time around is that Trump is credulous enough to take them at their word, narcissistic enough to think that calling Kim Jong Un “rocket man” was what brought them to the table, and stupid enough to think that any rogue-ish state would be willing to deal with the US when he’s spent the past year ripping up similar negotiated agreements left right and center (not to mention our longer history of dicking around with states that had previously abandoned their nuclear programs). It may not all be on Trump if this summit goes south, but it’s not exactly like he’s walking into this with the understanding that NK’s probably going to pull a fast one on him.
