A round up of Trumpian events šŸ–•šŸŠšŸ¤”

For another peek at Canada, a friend of mine was at an all candidates debate in Burlington Ontario. The PC candidate said, ā€œMake Burlington Great Againā€ twice.

Meanwhile, in Oz…

First Milo, now Southern. Looks like all of the B-list NorAm fascists are doing Oz tours.

Y’know how many people have observed that the GOP routinely accuse their opponents of things that they’re doing themselves?

ā€œPornography,ā€ she said.

ā€œIt’s available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but there’s pornography there,ā€ she continued. ā€œAll of this is available without parental guidance. I think that is a big part of the root cause.ā€

Why on earth would a teen want a porno mag these days? Let alone one bought or stolen from a supermarket? Do supermarkets sell porno mags?

I am apparently going to the wrong grocery stores cause I sure have yet to see porn for sale there.

No they really don’t; the batshit pearl clutching Thumper probably means Cosmo for women, and GQ for dudes.

Personally, I think Mr. Rogers is being optimistic, here. Six weeks would be a better guess. (Days? Minutes?)

…which is why it’s important to get non-violent revolution happening before that option disappears.

Speaking of which:

There are reasons Trump has specifically named MS-13 as his latest bogeyman. It’s not just because they are a ruthless and brutal gang (though they are) but one of the most organised. If shit gets violent, well…

Many of them have US military training. The gang sends them specifically so they can learn useful skills. This includes explosives, medics and logistics. They have supply lines in place between all major cities (and a lot of minor ones). They have better OpSec skills and discipline than most of the militias that will take up the Trumpian banner. They are fucking ruthless and they sure as hell ain’t siding with the Orange one (note, I am not saying they will be the good guys. Things will be… messy). He’s genuinely scared of them (himself, probably not for those reasons) and the advisors who still understand anything about reality share that fear (and for good reason). MS-13 aren’t a gang. They’re an army.

It’s not going to be North v. South. It’s going to largely be urban v. rural.

The rural, racist contingent brag how they have the food supply, but drug routes could be used to import food, if there’s a market. (Not to mention the fact that the ports are all in major cities). The far right likes to talk about how easy it will be to defeat a bunch of lefty city people who don’t have guns.

It’s not going to be ā€œleftysā€. It’s not going to be ā€œover and home for Christmas.ā€ If things go sour, it’s going to be a bloodbath with a lot of innocents stuck in the middle.

That’s what terrifies me.

Yup. This is why a bunch of folks have been trying to get things moving before it goes hot.

For some thoughts, see this thread:

I’ve been describing the status of the US as a ā€œcivil cold warā€ for a while now. Half the people in the country either think that Democrats or Republicans are the enemy of the American people. The people in rural Michigan literally voted for the Poison The Water Party because it was the city-folks’ water.

I saw someone say yesterday that the Trump people are doing the same thing that ISIS did in their propaganda (they were very clear they weren’t calling a Trump a terrorist since this was morning television). When ISIS was gathering steam they said that their territories were a paradise, that everything was great. Of course people believed the lies and went there to join ISIS. When they got there, it was pretty obvious that it wasn’t what they were promised. The person making the analogy said they thought that was what had to happen, that people had to see with their own eyes that it was a lie.

So I think there is real hope for a better outcome, and that hope is coming from the teacher strikes. Red states with largely Republican teachers that have the support of largely Republican populations that are calling the ā€œsmall governmentā€ fascists out because the result of their policies is people not having a place to send their kids during the day when they have to go to work.

I’m guessing Ms Black hasn’t shopped for herself in an actual grocery store in a long time. I’m unclear why she thinks boners cause shootouts, however. Sounds like some serious underlying marital issues in the Black household.

If you are going to consistently take evidence against your worldview and interpret it as evidence for your worldview then there is no reason to stop when people tell you they don’t like it.

I know I know, she played a very big role in the admin parroting Donald’s talking points and twisting herself into knots to justify his actions on a daily basis.

But you can tell by her voice she’s having an increasingly more difficult time dealing with moments like this

Huh. So maybe that’s not a lizard in a human-skin suit.
