They try to say they are promoting fairness and merit but the whole reason these programs are needed is because the system is inherently rigged against minorities and POC to begin with.

Another thing that seems noble in theory but in reality is just ignoring the very real problems and differences that POC experience in America. Until everybody is truly equal, “race-blind” policies aren’t helping. The ability to be “race-blind” is just code for “white privilege”.
More of treating the status quo as the “fairest” most “natural” order, the way conservatives love to do, even though they have to work day and night to preserve their creaking experiment in racial hierarchy. They love to treat things like Affirmative Action as social experiments gone awry, but their grasp of social history is utter garbage at best, twisted, socipathic propaganda at worst. It’s yet another irony of the “party of personal responsibility” that they refuse to take responsibility and admit to the crimes of racism and make good on the foul play (read: murder, tortue and slavery, etc…) that built the status quo in their favor.
Yeah, only when policies may put them at a supposed “disadvantage” then it’s all about fairness and equality. Otherwise it’s all, “everything’s fine!”
