Have we reached peak Arrogance of Ignorance yet? Somehow I doubt it.
So, confirming once again that he’s not just POTUS, he’s also president of the armchair-asshole-on-the-internet club. Yeah, we know, Don.
Also, WTactualF is this monstrosity of a widget at the bottom of the article?!? wha…what does it all even mean?
Wait wait wait. The government owns 61% of the company? I’m pretty sure private 61% share holders don’t usually complain idly as their company makes decisions that hurt them.
While respecting the angst about covering the verbal diarrhea gushing from this asshole, this kind of thing coming from the pres of the USA is nothing short of terrifying.
And Holy Shit!! I said on another thread that the panic following the blue wave would be interesting, but this is beyond where I thought we would go.
I feel like if I was the vice chairman of a political party, and leaders wanted to remove me because of my religion, I might rethink whether this was the political party for me.
There are some things that just peg my “WTF” meter. Among them are gay republicans, Muslim republicans and Hispanic republicans. How can these people support a party whose platform pretty much calls for them to be eliminated? Lack of understanding of exactly what they are supporting maybe? I do not know. Just wow.
It continues to amaze me that the republicans seem willing to engage in political self harm for no apparent reason. Let’s face it, everyone who approves of kicking out a member of the party based on faith is already in your camp. You don’t need to convince them anymore. You gain very little, if anything. But you lose even more of the non white vote, an area where you’re already very vulnerable.
So you gain almost nothing and lose quite a bit. They’re suffering for their dogma, and it makes no sense to me.
There’s no hatred as strong as self-hate.
Because they think that they’re “safe” because they’re insiders and the ire is aimed at those other people. Or they think that institutions will protect them from the worst, so they can support the policies they agree with. Or their families have taught them (or they’ve always) voted Republican, and they really can’t see how far right the party has shifted since the 70s. Or they really are afraid of “socialism” because all they’ve learned about it in their lives is food riots and surveillance states. They don’t realise that those things can happen under far-right regimes, too.
Or any combination of the above. It could also be that they just don’t care.
Damn, that is genius! How do we get this going?
Reminds me of the main character in Derrick Bell’s The Space Traders…
Oh look, more “shocking” revelations that are almost certainly flops. (Remember The Memo™ and how it was supposed to be some sort of huge game changer but was just a big yawn?)
