A round up of Trumpian events 🖕🍊🤡

I’d already clocked the first bit of decent news, but not the second.

Chalk this up as another win.

What’s the point of going along with Trump, even in a minimal way? I don’t understand, are they trying to prevent the country splitting down the middle? Newsflash, that’s already happened. I would give him the metaphorical finger and just block everything, that way you at least keep your own half happy.

Their donors have a financial interest in maintaining business-as-usual, and their donors are who they serve.

This is more Late Stage Capitalism™, but still…

When the Government shuts down it hurts the poor quite a bit, the rich not at all. That’s why the GOP is always happy to use it as a weapon of extortion.

Anyone else amused by this in @docosc post?

(Steve Case’s cousin Ed is my incoming congressman. Bluedog, completely out of step with the district, but his primary opponents were a pretty motley group.)

‘This is scientific censorship of the worst kind’: The Trump administration reportedly froze the acquisition of fetal tissue for research, including an HIV cure experiment

That’s exactly what the GOP did when we elected a black guy to be president. They have to be the “better” people, though, no matter the cost to the country and their fellow human beings.

Democratic-spine

Keep in mind that typical items dealing with border security are not really that expensive. Cameras, acoustic sensors, motion sensors, networking, and personnel would total somewhere in the millions, NOT billions. $1.3 BILLION is a give away to trump and to defense contractors (Donors) gouging the country. Pelosi and Schumer are not doing us any favors here.

Whatever it takes to stroke off the steel industry.

I mean, it’s a lie and the wall shouldn’t be built. But the military (or more accurately a federal body with their own federal-employed work force) should be used as a public infrastructure development and construction group. It’s something our country desperately needs, and it shouldn’t be farmed out to private contracts. It would also give labor a seat of power in Washington.

This is absolutely true. Our infrastructure is crumbling in a way that should (but won’t) shame our elected leaders. But spending billions on a stupid boondoggle for xenophobic Trumpsters is of no benefit to anyone, other than the contractors who will rake in huge sums.

But I thought that was really only for a while, and at some point he just gave up.

Do any of us at this point? I don’t know how I feel about this any more, honestly.

Goddamned coward he is for thinking about just letting it happen. F him. If he really cared he’d turn evidence and just be done with it. These people really make me sick. John Kelly, a former military man, has absolutely no honor.

Well, I think it’s worth remembering that he’s an awful racist who is basically on board with the put-kids-in-cages agenda of the administration, he just doesn’t like Trump.
