A Sanders candidacy would make 2020 a referendum on the future, not a referendum on Trump

Welp, it’s my least favorite when bbs threads devolve into back-and-forths, so I’ll make this my final thoguhts so as to stop at the magic three.

There is a world of difference between “supporting efforts to remove” a foreign leader and going in and unilaterally, forcably removing them. You’d be nuts to think Saddam Hussein should’ve stayed in power (watch the Frontline ep about him) and Sanders agreed, and generally supported economic sanctions, with that 1998 minor support of internal efforts. It would be wild to be a Democratic Socialist and not have strong opinions about the character of foreign leaders or suppprt democratic uprisings.

But he also consistently agreed that going in and removing him was a bad idea. He didn’t even vote for the first gulf war intervention, and everybody loved that one. There were goddamn tee-shirts like it was a 5k mud run.

Those are a gross oversimplification of facts that rely of the title of a resolution and not the content. Doing so ignores orders of magnitude of difference.
