I don’t think this is a portent of anything. The people who are cynically deciding whether to kiss Trump’s ass or not aren’t data-driven people. Their decision making is foolish and fear-based. Try convincing a shark-phobic people that sharks aren’t actually very dangerous while they in the water with a shark.
