A Trump endorsement ain't what it's cracked up to be, as one candidate learned

Hopefully, this is a continuing trend all over the country where Mayor McTreason has a strong base of support.

Add to these anecdotes the fact that Trump usually only endorses candidates who were already favored to win (because he doesn’t want to be seen backing “losers”) and you begin to understand just how useless a Trump endorsement really is.

Obviously voter fraud is the real issue in this race.

I wouldn’t conclude too much from this. It was run-off election, in which both candidates were Republicans. It’s fair to assume that Dems and Independent voters, if they vote, would vote overwhelmingly for the non-Trump endorsed candidate.

In a Republican primary, those voters don’t participate, so as long as Trump holds sway over the party, the endorsement matters.

And in a normal election, those voters wouldn’t vote for a Republican at all, and we still don’t know how many R voters would defect from their party in protest against Trump.

Don’t forget about George P. Bush, also in TX…
Son of failed presidential candidate “Low Energy” Jeb, nephew to war criminal W.
This Shrub threw his family under the political bus to lick trumpf’s boot only to be discarded. I would love to see the next family get together.

This will be the canary in the coal mine for 2024. If Trump’s endorsement makes him a kingmaker, his power will grow. If it just manages to kill opponent’s chances, then people will start to reject him.

This isn’t an antiRump win. Both the endorsed candidate and the winning candidate were Trumpers, and both made that fact clear on the campaign trail.

Given how terrible this guy’s voting record is already, it’s hard to imagine how awful Trump’s pick must have been by comparison.

In Ohio, we’ve got a raft of wingnuts running in a Republic*nt primary to replace Steve Stivers. ALL of them either position themselves as “Trump conservatives,” or use variations of MAGA terminology. They are also apparently all united against a guy named Mike Carey (not the comics writer), who they say is a DC lobbyist with ties to EVE-ILL socialist liberals and Mitt Romney.

Guess who two-time Emmy loser DJT endorsed this week. LOL.

You can bet the whole mob of republican candidates will throw trump under the bus as soon as it looks like he’s become a liability.

The optimist (however small) in me says I hope so…the realist in me says trump lost the House and Senate yet these morons still cling to him like toilet paper.

That could be Mike Carey…

It will take them loosing more ground at the mid-term, when the party not in the white house typically gains, for this to sink in. If the republicans gain, trump will take all the credit.

I’d say that this is exactly why more should be read into this. Trump can’t motivate Republicans to vote for his candidate. Being his puppet don’t work no more.

There’s also JD Vance, who’s spent the last several months cozying up to Trump’s butthole, even to the point of deleting tweets that were critical of Trump, in a hilariously desperate attempt to get Trump’s endorsement.

As much as I hope that this is true, the cult of the orange clown is still a devoted group. Most of the Republican lawmakers still gain from being pathetic ass kissers.
