After Comey firing, FBI began investigating if Trump was working for Russia

You sincerely have rose colored glasses about the ‘greatest generation’
They were a bunch of racist assholes who licked up the government trough with the GI bill and voted straight GOP because N…Bong…Ers where getting civil rights and were against social security while getting low interest loans on the GI bill, and they put Nixon in power and supported wiretaps of dissiedent like ‘hippies’ and hard core liberal democrats and even the farken Smother Brothers.

Not to deminish their fight against Nazi’s but more than a few of them would if not for Pearl Harbor…be on the side of Germany and support “Jew Free” gated communities, censorship of libraries, and all white schools.

Damn, yo; he didn’t say even or imply all that.

It’s a meme, meant to inspire weary and frustrated people to keep “fighting the good fight,” it’s not supposed to be any historically accurate accounting of the past…

And even more strange is the fact that it’s mainly the exact opposite end of the political spectrum that’s been harboring a fantasy of Govt. takeover and has been stockpiling weapons and ammunition in some sort of bizarre fantasy that they’re going to fight to maintain the “American Way!”.

Nobody seems to have realized that they’d be the ones licking the boots of a likely Russian asset, who seems to be “draining the swamp” only so that it can be used as a nuclear waste dump.

That seems like a pretty safe bet. Leaving aside the now pretty conclusive proof that his campaign colluded with the Russians, we know he was working on a dodgy deal (that involved giving Putin a penthouse) in Moscow while the Republican candidate, years of money laundering for Russians, and a personal life that doesn’t bear scrutiny (because it’s too damn creepy to look at closely).

Edit: Also, you know, all this:

Hopefully they care.

Actually we do know about some of these…

He’s shitty at everything, including being a dictator. Declaring an emergency, just to build a wall, will get him tied up in court for years. (It also doesn’t magic up the money he needs to build the wall, either.) He doesn’t understand how things work (nor what their limits are) - that works against him. He’s doing a lot of damage, and the country may never totally recover from it, but there are still limits to what he can do.

He owes them millions of dollars in “loans” via Deutsche Bank, who the Russians used to funnel money to him when no other banks would deal with him, because he stiffed them.

False.

Should be large enough.
Just build a nice wall around it, done.

I haven’t seen anything definitive on DB being a conduit for Russian money, but a link would be very welcome. I do know that DB and Wells Fargo were the only big Western banks that would lend to the grifter after the early 2000s, long after the others realised he was a deadbeat and an incompetent. Both banks have had dysfunctional management for a long time, so they’d lend to just about anyone.

I wouldn’t put it outside the realm of possibility, but there was nothing preventing him at the time from taking loans directly from Russian and “Cypriot” banks. You’ll recall that at one point in 2016 computer scientists discovered mysterious regular communication between one of his company’s servers and that of Alfa-Bank in Moscow (Alfa is not as strong a crony bank of Putin’s as others, but like all other large businesses there it operates only at his pleasure and is thus inclined to do “favours” when asked).

Mueller is diligently building his case, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets access to Dolt-45’s personal and corporate tax returns (especially if he flips Ed Burke). Tracking down the original sources of funds and checking for laundering will be part of that investigation, and it may well turn out that you’re right and that DB or Wells Fargo might end up in deeper doo-doo than they’re already in for their generally sleazy business practises.

The end result, as I’ve been saying for years now, is that he’ll be discovered to be a Russian asset in the sense that he was in hock up to his forehead to a lot of Russian bankers (all in thrall to Putin) who made a lot of strong “suggestions” about running for the presidency and who he should hire for his campaign staff (direct assets like Manafort, Page, Flynn etc.). Not taking those “suggestions” from Vlad’s cut-outs would have resulted in the loans being called in and the rotten edifice of his “Organization” collapsing.

That he “won” the election was a pleasant surprise for the Shirtless Macho Man, offering more political and beeznus opportunities beyond just undermining confidence in liberal democracy.

Every utterly destructive act by Trump against this nation makes perfect sense if one assumes it is his very mission to cause such damage. I think the evidence that’s already come to light is proof positive — indeed, a Russian agent is in control of the USA. An actual Manchurian Candidate. What this means long term is anyone’s guess.

My sense is the bulk of the GOP went along with it in a massive deal with the devil, they thought they could control him and it was worth winning the Presidency to them, even if it meant knowingly backing a Russia-controlled candidate. This is why Ryan retired — as that infamous tape showed (“This stays in the family! No leaks!”) he was up to his eyeballs in it.

This will likely be the main impetus that leads to the fall of the USA as the global superpower. Which normally I’d say is a good thing, but the alternative may be worse. We shall see.

Doing such would be dishonest.

However, just remember that the reasonable people mostly have the coasts, the cities, the primary economic centers. And we have the majority, quite by far if you follow that many non-voters lean left, which many smart people agree with.

And no matter how messed up Washington is, there are plenty of good people there, and in the military. It may take a coup, but we’re going to get these fuckers out of there, by hook or by crook (had to use a line from The Prisoner, considering we seem to be trapped in an episode!)

the worst part of all this is how some people/commentators are saying “see checks and balances are working”

but they aren’t, not at all, because look at how illegitimate this ignorant stubborn a-hole is, how much power he’s been allowed to have to two years now, set terrible things so far back, stacked the courts that will affect this country for decades

none of that is undone if he is impeached or voted out, nothing, it’s all left in play like it was totally legitimate and we just have to accept it

hurry the F-up Mueller, if you have proof he made deals with eight countries before even his first day and he is setting things up for personal profit with russia and saudis, you should have exposed that the very first week you had that data, he’s DESTROYING this country - proving it afterward is freaking useless, this can’t be undone

and Pence is going to be as bad, look at how baldly he’s lied right to the cameras on numerous occasions, calmly waiting for his moment to set what tiny LGBTQ rights exist in this country back to the dark ages, you just know everything trump has done in that regard so far is from Pence whispering in his ear

Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.

Republicans go to Dems in House to start impeachment in 3 , , 2 , , 1 . .

This is rather a big deal, isn’t this?

I mean, until Trump lines like “The FBI is investigating the President because they worry he’s a Russian asset” belonged to Cold War era political thrillers and/or frothing-at-the-mouth conspiracy theories. Now, it’s a legitimate possibility.

Makes me wonder how many GOP politicians have been taking Russian money laundered through NRA, because that would handily explain why they’re sticking with Trump.

Great, even merely competent spies, know how to keep their mouths shut. Trump’s great virtue, from the Kremlin’s perspective, is his utter incompetence.

Hi
Of course we know. The pieces are all coming together.

I was phrasing this in the way that Trump likes to - couching accusation in speculation and pseudo-hearsay. The outright lies are something totally different.
