Alex Jones faces daily fines for refusing to appear at court-ordered deposition, increasing $25,000 a day

True, but conversely, the trial is to assess the damages he’ll have to pay. I’m sure the jury will be unimpressed with his failure to appear for deposition, and much of what he might want to say in his defense will be tossed because it should have been given to the plaintiffs as part of the deposition. Or the trial could get pushed back, and he’ll keep racking up charges. The court can order payment seized from his account or businesses, or seizure of his assets.

His legal strategy seems to be “pretend to ignore it, and maybe it will go away.” That might work when you’re 10 and told to take out the trash. It’s much less likely to work on a federal judge.

Again, call me when he actually pays a nickel to anyone.
They can keep finding against him in court, but he still suffers no actual consequences.

The utter contempt routinely shown by the right wing, supposedly the party of law and order, for said law and order stinks to the highest heavens.

Looking more and more like the Party in 1984 where reality means whatever the party needs it to mean at any given moment.

So far, none of these clowns seems to have the guile and viciousness of a Stalin but sooner or later they will get one to replace the posturing imbecile known as Trump.

It will certainly match his facial “skin” color.

Perjury in a deposition has to be cheaper than this.

Which effectively negates any incentive for Jones to show up at any time other than when he damn well pleases.

Looks like it worked, too.
It’s not much of a fine if it is refundable…
