Surprisingly this kind of conduct won’t get Habba bounced from the legal profession forthwith in NJ, without some concerted effort behind it.
In general the quickest way to get disbarred is to fool around with client money. Aside from that, the Professional Legal Ethics apparatus moves much more slowly.
Given her prominence and the egregious ethical violations, I can see people lining up around the block to testify against her in front of the Ethics Committee.
It’s not really surprising, unfortunately. Bar associations are extremely reluctant to disbar anyone. Just as state medical boards are run by doctors, state bar associations are run by attorneys. Both are pretty averse to kicking one of their own out of the profession completely.
Both are keenly aware that doing so will result in a lawsuit, merited or not.
Are we sure she’s actually a member of the bar in good standing now?
I don’t know about medical boards, but attorneys suing the bar association over being disbarred is not a thing that happens. I’m not even sure you can file a lawsuit like that. You can, I think, appeal a disbarment, and then that could go to your state’s supreme court, but I don’t think you can sue the bar association for disbarring you.
She is. Can be verified here.

I mean, not even knowing any details, I’d be pretty surprised if the bar association somehow didn’t have that possibility covered.
Also, I am inadvertently mixing up the state bar with the state bar associations. The state bar is who licenses attorneys, and disciplines them. That’s separate from the bar association. Anywho, you can’t sue the state bar if they disbar you. All you can do is appeal.
Ha!
Pay a settlement with what money?
Nice to know that Alina Habba is living up to the high ethical standards that we’d expect from someone who represents Donald Trump.
She has been paid millions from campaign donations, that fund his legal defense.
She is now so well known that her incompetence and dishonesty should put off reasonably intelligent and prudent potential clients. If she wasn’t literally a mall lawyer before, she may end having her office in one… or in a converted 7-eleven store.
It’s assholes all the way down, folks.
Um, OK.
Paid or promised payment is what I ask myself.
“Um, Ok.”
Trump paid somebody? Buh?
