All Cops Taste Bad?
Let’s hope this one stays fired…and the family is able to sue:
tldr: Sheriff Joe Lopinto explains that cops have a right to shoot people and he works to support any deputies that want to do so. JPSO engages lots of suspects accused of non-violent crimes in violent chases and shoots lots of Black men and has no intention of changing anything. This year they were forced to start wearing body cams, but haven’t released any requested footage; this also won’t change without the feds forcing them
“We are confident that these actions represent a temporary lapse in judgment for the handful of staff that were involved and do not reflect a systemic issue at TCF or the larger correctional system,” Thompson said.
“One bad apple” bullshit again. The whole orchard needs fumigated!
What!?!
“Disgraced former gun-happy cop still cop, still gun-happy, still a disgrace.”
Buttheads cause wrongful imprisonment and this is the price:
Cops and prosecutors should pay for their role in cases like this, too.
It’s not even just a US thing, sadly.
Documents provided to ABC News by the Naugatuck Police Department show Kehoss has been disciplined by the department several times during his 13-year tenure as a police officer.
This is the thing. As with so many of these cases, the officer in question had demonstrated his unsuitability for the office repeatedly, yet was still there, still a danger to the community, still with the backing of the higher ups. If they want to regain the trust of the community, this is where you start. Come on, it’s low-hanging fruit, guys.
