The one candidate remaining I would really have difficulty supporting even in the general is Bloomberg. Trading an incompetent fascist for a competent one is not an improvement.
Thomas is an originalist, too. He’s just almost completely silent almost all the time, so it’s hard to find his position. He rules with the far right wing of the court 100%.

unless you consider people like lindsey graham, pat toomey, bob dole(!?), george bush, rudy giuliani, john mccain, and susan colins to be democrats.
he’ll use his money just like he always has: to support politicians who support him.
and that may not always be the democrats. better for people ( should he become the nominee ) to spend their time and effort on downticket democratic races.
controlling the senate is at least as important as the presidency. ( see also: impeachment and judicial appointments. )

I respectfully disagree.
Bloomberg wants a public healthcare option. He wants to expand the affordable care act. Those two things alone count as a step in the right direction. Things have deteriorated under Trump and just getting back close to where we were 4 years ago would be step in the right direction.
Ms Ginsburg & Mr Breyer will die on the court rather than let Dipshit be able to replace them with another unqualified conservative lapdog, if they can help it

Bloomberg’s motivation is that he’s embarrassed that Trump managed to do something that he hasn’t yet - he couldn’t care less about anybody below his own income bracket
So he’s cool with the middle 80% of people going bankrupt and losing their homes over medical debt? What a hero!

Yep, I’m well aware of that. But if Trump is reelected, he will likely have the opportunity to replace an aging, not-terribly-healthy originalist with a healthy 40-year-old originalist.
We need five seats. Thomas’s is the one we would be most likely to be able to pick up.
Better yet, we need 15 seats. Totally fair after the Merrick Garland & Kavanaugh fuckery.
