An on-going thread of Trump's Legal woes

Well, it does say this:

The judge did leave in place a separate order that prohibits Trump and his lawyers from disclosing the identities of individual jurors or their home or work addresses.

But it also says this, about the same person who claimed, nope, no more classified documents at Mar-A-Lago:

Trump lawyer Todd Blanche said after the verdict the defense team has destroyed that information.

In a statement on Monday, a lawyer for Mr. Trump, Christopher Kise, called the former president “a visionary and iconic real estate titan who has been baselessly pursued and persecuted” by Ms. James, echoing language in the appeal.

“Such an outrageous miscarriage of justice is profoundly un-American,” Mr. Kise said. “And a complete reversal is the only means available to restore public confidence.”

Inside the state-run National Bank of Egypt, employees were soon busy placing bundles of $100 bills into two large bags, according to records from the bank. Four men arrived and carried away the bags, which U.S. officials later described in sealed court filings as weighing a combined 200 pounds and containing what was then a sizable share of Egypt’s reserve of U.S. currency.

Federal investigators learned of the withdrawal, which has not been previously reported, early in 2019. The discovery intensified a secret criminal investigation that had begun two years earlier with classified U.S. intelligence indicating that Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi sought to give Trump $10 million to boost his 2016 presidential campaign, a Washington Post investigation has found.

On Jan. 15, 2022, five years after the money left the bank in Cairo, the deadline for bringing charges under the federal statute of limitations for illegal campaign contributions expired.

Thanks, Merrick!

ETA: why is the statute of limitations only one year longer than a single presidential term and one year less than a senate term. WTF
