Ha! That presumes that 1) he has a conscience 2) any religiosity is not feigned for the sake of rethuglican votes, and 3) that he would actually value and listen to someone else’s opinion if it contradicted his.

They may have “tried”, but in the wrong direction. One RW talking point was that, in November, Florida had lower levels of coronavirus infection detected. They can keep that measurement low if they’re not detecting new cases. Trump said this bit of moronic evil out loud, he hated testing because the more testing, the higher the rate of covid, so maybe don’t test so much.
