When I lived in Texas, I figured that holding the office of Governor should require swimming some meaningful distance in the Houston Ship Channel &/or Galveston Bay. But no wet suit: just trunks, at most. You want the job, then you have to put some literal skin in the game & own the water quality there.

Surely we can’t expect Macron to get in the water. A preening overestimation of your abilties won’t keep the animating mass of technocrat cogs from rusting.
