First of May. Broadly celebrated as International Workers Day since pretty early on in the labor movement. The US opted to go with Labor Day instead. And promptly forgot the purpose behind such holidays.

If people go to the trouble of a general strike, wouldn’t that deserve some more… poignant demands than what I read basically as appealing to the government’s decency?
