What helps is, she’s telling the truth. From experience, I’ll say public speaking is much easier when you really understand and believe in your topic. Lying is a lot more work.

It’s always harder to create than simply remember, especially when what you’re creating has to be self-consistent and is dangerous to document.

Here’s to dancing circles around the GOP’s head.

She’s been there for all of three months, let’s maybe hold off a bit on canonizing her.

Just watched the cspan footage of her questioning Cohen. AOC may not be ready for canonization but who cares? She skipped the grandstanding, focussed like a sugical laser, & opened a new case against Trump in less than 5 minutes, complete with leads, references & paper trail.

I don’t want to deify AOC, but she does consistently water that kernel of hope that stubbornly lives in my cold, dark heart.

Her no bullshit approach to pretty much everything is a refreshing change from the usual ‘all style & no substance’ rhetoric of most politicians.

I think there is a big market out there for no bullshit right now.

Oh my God, how true this is. I sincerely resist placing folks on pedestals, because they are too easy to fall off of, but she makes that rule a bit tough to stick to. I have been impressed with several of the freshmen class this year. Hope is all we have to hold onto right now, and she provides that. Let’s keep it up and turn things for real in 2020.

I know I’m an avid consumer, and have been for quite some time…

She’s MY Congressperson. I voted for her. I believe in her.

You know what else is going to sell like hotcakes, in 2020?

Anti-corruption.

She’s done more in three months than Rob Portman (my other senator) has done in his 4 terms.

I’d argue that no-bullshit and anti-corruption are linked concepts, but if we actually started using no-bullshit as a metric for anti-corruption people would game the system and we’d end up with straight-talking politicians telling us about all the cash bribes they received in their office.

You could kinda argue Trump is what a no-bullshit, pro-corruption candidate looks like. His “realpolitik” style was certainly contrasted against Obama’s “overeducated” style by, well, idiots I guess. A plain-spoken and confident lie can bludgeon a carefuly crafted and properly hedged truth any day. It puts the “confidence” in con man.

I’m not going to canonise her just yet. It’s enough for the moment that she inspires fear and dread across the spectrum of the American right and has them ending up in Wile E Coyote situations every time they take a stab at taking her down.

I kind of hate to keep harping on it, but damn, she keeps impressing me.

I keep seeing the right talk about her as a “little girl” an “airhead,” etc. but every thing I’ve seen them attack her for, she was actually completely correct. So their attempts to dismiss her just end up showing their own ignorance and stupidity.

And a number of other congresscritters, I’m sorry to say. She’s also been consistently impressive and smart and right, which means we can reasonably expect her to continue; it’s not like she did something good once as a fluke.
