Articles of Impeachment introduced for Trump by CA congressman Brad Sherman

Trump thinks so too:

I was going to add “applies to any presidency” but, with Trump it will certainly be a hair trigger response.

I think it’s too soon. Turnip has not sufficiently embarrassed the GOP to turn on him, and as long as they hold the majority, they’ll keep their useful idiot in the oval office.

Either Turnip has to keep getting worse in public forums, start turning on GOP congressmen, or dems need to take the majority in 2018.

Nothing would please me more than to be completely wrong about this.

Hell, if I’m wrong, I’ll happily declare it from my rooftop while dancing a jig…

Unfortunately I expect it to go like this:

Would you believe that it is even worse? Because if you know a crash is coming you can personally get obscenely wealthy even if the stock-market (and by extension) the country is burning down around you. And, hey, if it all goes pear-shaped, they can always be bailed out. Again. A run of bad gambling luck on the Wall Street Casino is nothing a few trillion of freshly minted dollars can’t fix. And since you buy oil in dollars and everyone needs oil the rest of the planet picks up most of the tab. It’s a win-win!

Well if you are a part of the 1%. If you aren’t, it’s more of a lose-lose-lose-lose proposition.

Thank you kindly. I thought as much but wanted to hope, though I confess that ‘President Pence’ doesn’t really fill me with glee.

Well, to be fair, Congressman Sherman has said that he doesn’t really expect this to result in the removal of the president — indeed, given the current political situation, he’s not really sanguine about its chances of even passing in the first place.

But he felt that the time had come to quit pretending — to acknowledge that, in actual fact, we have evidence that the President has committed “high crimes and misdemeanors” sufficient to justify a demand for impeachment.

Given such evidence, it is time to go on record noting the fact of its existence, no matter what the “current political situation” may or may not actually do about it.

To state, for the record, that impeachment is the right thing to do — even if partisan political hackery currently makes it impossible to the right thing.

If you want to call that ‘posturing’, feel free. As one of Cong. Sherman’s constituents, I’m pleased to see him doing this, even though I understand as well as he does what the practical result is likely to be.

Ah, so it is a C.F. Adams sort of affair? "“It would be superfluous in me to point out to your lordship that this is war.” That sort of thing? Setting something down for the record, as it were.

Precisely.

Even if this endeavor is nowhere near the desired ‘coup de grace,’ it still needs to be officially on record:

My concern is not just the Malignant Cheeto, but the people he has selected for his administration. They are gleefully taking a fire axe to anything that looks even remotely like it had a D on it, and even if Trump were removed today, political lag would let the rest of his cabinet and staff continue in their destructive course for months. Pence concerns me as well; he is a Dominionist and what Trump is doing through greed and ignorance, Pence would do deliberately because he wants to bring about the End Times and expects to be one of the Elect when that happens.

Speaking of Pence, as we all know, it’s difficult to defeat a sitting president. I think it can happen to Trump. Can it happen to President Pence?

The problem with this is that it suggests that anything damaging to Trump causes a market drop. When the opposite is true, then he’ll go.

Most of these people (GOP people) have stopped even pretending to give a damn about this country.

I think all those congressional GOP members snapping up health insurance stock in anticipation of all the people they are about to send to their deaths with their “healthcare” bill is about as low as I’ve seen it get. But I’m not convinced I’ve seen the bottom yet.

@curlz813 the other problem is, the Dow isn’t a magic barometer of anything except how well corporate America is doing. The news only pretends it matters because it’s so cheap and easy to report on, and so abstract you can read whatever you want into it. Much like Turmp’s moronic tweets, actually.

Well, sure, it’s a rookie move…
