'Atheists, homosexuals and transgender individuals' upset Alabama's chief justice

Roy Moore should shut the fuck up and thank his whatever that he isn’t in prison right now for his attempted abuse of power and his dereliction of duty.

If I tick off all three boxes - do I get a door prize?

Or at least - give him a heart attack?

Why would he ever think outside of his ideological bubble? People are going to continue to enable his bigotry…

his son, unfortunately. he’s been arrested multiple times for various kinds of possession and at least one dui. normally – for someone at 25 – i would not say blame the parents, but… i might make an exception in this case.

I’m not sexist, but men really are too emotional to be trusted with power.

Unfortunately, odds are that he’s still there because he has done an excellent job representing terrible people; and there are always plenty of those looking for representation.

It’s only really surprising when people who overtly work against the interests of their constituents still end up back in power over and over.

Congratulations, “Chief Justice” - if you weren’t on The List before, you most certainly are now.

I expect that he doesn’t know the difference between pagans and atheists. They all fall into the class of people who don’t go to the meetin’ house to hear preacher tell how anyone who hasn’t accepted Jee-surs as their pussonal savyur and put at least $25 in the plate is goin’ to Hell, which will now be described in toe-curling detail.1

1Apologies if I don’t get the accent right. The US and the UK are united in the inability to get one another’s regional accents correct.

“…this is about what the law is.”

So why doesn’t he adhere to what the law is? (As determined by the Supreme Court).

Hay, don’t exclude us cis semi socialist misanthropes with delusionals of grandeur and a proclivity for mock religions from disappointing him either!

As a Southerner, I can attest that there are many folks around here who need some heart blessing (and/or sense). But there are also many of us who aren’t living in 1956, so at least there’s that.

Not surprised at his military service:

before being sent to South Vietnam. Serving as company commander of his MP unit, Moore was known to be very strict. Some of the soldiers gave him the derogatory nickname, “Captain America,” because of his attitude toward discipline. His role earned him several enemies, and in his autobiography he recalls sleeping on sandbags to avoid a grenade or bomb being tossed under his cot, as many had threatened fragging the commander.

Though Steve Rogers seems much nicer. He never had to worry about fragging.

IANAL, but surely there must be some way he could just, you know, go fuck himself? Fuck himself right back to hell?

I never understood the thing about electing judges and law enforcement and other civil servants in the US. They’re positions that are supposed to be neutral and to serve everyone equally. Making them political is bound to chase away the most qualified candidates because they’re not interested in the pandering and stress getting elected involves.

As a christian that value the diversity Homosexual, Transgendered, and other folks of Faith or even Non-Faith, Alabama’s Chief Justice offends me.

Obviously, we should be making our decisions based on outdated medical books. That just makes sense. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m late for a blood letting and a new poultice. Boy! Bring 'round my buggy!
