This is just as scary, if not scarier, than the riots.
The idea that we’ve entered into a chapter where overt, public calls to violence and threats by fellow lawmakers are shrugged off. How many smart, civically minded young people are never going to run for office because of this toxic environment? And how many evil bullies are going to rise up in their place?
It reminds me of almost every dystopic-society Stephen King plot.
At the urging of other lawmakers, Chase did, finally, denounce any white supremacists who might have had a role in the attack on the Capitol. And she said she was “sorry that I’ve hurt a lot of your feelings.”

Happily, almost 100% of the responses are asking if she thinks T “learned his lesson,” asking if she knows why the troops had to be there in the 1st place, and demanding that she get it right this time and vote to impeach/convict. Almost makes me feel bad for whatever staffers have to keep up her Twitter account. Almost.
Probably also a combination of the age of most TV writers (i.e., “writing what you know” is limited to school when you are just out of school) and societal standards of attractiveness.
Sure, maybe. But it certainly wasn’t an operation that required 40 years. Forty minutes with a hooker and the promise of a hamberder would have sufficed.
The reading list for the Proud Boys book club is something else
The memo states that the FBI found a thumb drive in “a room that appeared to be used exclusively by the defendant” containing hundreds of files with these and similar titles: “Advanced Improvised Explosives,” “Explosive Dusts,” “Incendiaries,” “The Box Tube MAC-11: The Ultimate DIY Machine Pistol,” “Ragnar’s Big Book of Homemade Weapons,” and “The Advanced Anarchist’s Arsenal: Recipes for Improvised Incendiaries and Explosives.”
Is the “explosive dusts” manual just one line that states all dusts can be explosive?
Step one:
Persuade your target to build a granary where you want the explosion to happen.
Step two:
Wait as long as it takes.

Perhaps Chaining Yourselves To Trump Is Not So Bright
Interesting. I don’t say this stuff to give advice to Republicans. I say it to dislodge the conventional wisdom from media coverage. Sarah Palin was the most important and most popular political figure, in the eyes of certain influential reporters and publications but never in the polls, for years.

IIRC, the SF writer Greg Bear describes a dust bomb in Quantico.
(I prefer his more wildly imaginative settings, myself.)
Poster child for the willfully ignorant entitlement project. She got the twitter ban now so can’t pull up her bullshit. IIRC after getting a paypal ban she went on to say that she was only asking for donations so other people could feel like they are helping out, not because she actually needed the money.
