Moreover, because much of the riot was caught on camera and social media, the amount of discovery material it has created has also been enormous. Prosecutors have collected tens of thousands of hours of video footage from surveillance cameras inside the Capitol and from body cameras worn by the police. There are disks full of cellphone tower readings, flash drives of radio transmissions, hundreds of thousands of tips from individuals, and reams of texts and photographs from thousands of cellphones seized by federal agents.
The government has said that it has gathered more than 1 million posts from the conservative social media app Parler alone.
Complicating matters, the rioters on Jan. 6 moved as a mob, often working in proximity or concert. That has meant that much of the discovery data is “overlapping and interlocking,” as prosecutors have said, and needs to be shared with multiple defendants.
“It doesn’t compare to any case that has ever occurred in the history of our government,” a prosecutor said at Hale-Cusanelli’s hearing.

The pace of this has been slow all along - starting with the failure to arrest these insurrectionists on the day of the attempted coup. It’s interesting that the concern about a speedy trial is raised in this case, because the pandemic created delays in courts and exposed that the process wasn’t swift in the before times. Another common problem is the number of people detained for long periods of time while awaiting trial. It’s not clear if that applies to the rioters, or if they are free while they wait:

Similar thing in Georgia with the “data scientists” who claim they could prove evidence of fraud.
Using their own criteria (districts where vote swung above 90% for a candidate), using the official results, you can demonstrate Trump cheated more than Biden.
These people are banking on nobody having the time, interest or skills to double check their work.

From that article
Relatives of Smith and Liebengood have said they believe the riot led to the suicides and are pushing for their deaths to be recognized as having occurred in the line of duty.
Fucking hell right it better be considered in the line of duty! Unvaccinated officers get to consider any death or disability from COVID an “in the line of duty” death or injury thanks to that bill passed last summer. These Capitol officers have a much, much better case to make.

Something I have had my fill of, besides politicians, is attention seeking people on the internet filming while driving.

I rarely see it, I think I hang out in the nicer parts of the internet. I get why people might record from their parked cars, but it strikes me as a certain kind of manic, hectic personality that would be compelled to record while driving!

(Sorry, Off-topic, but you got me wondering)
What’s being conveyed thru these? “I’m so busy (because I’m important) that I can only offer you my wisdom while I’m driving. No time to sit & chat!”? Why not just send missives from the lavatory?

I think it’s more a form of desperate attention seeking; “Look at me, right now! What I have to say is so incredibly important that it can’t possibly wait until I’m someplace private and stationary, with decent lighting!”

I could hazard a guess as to what they’re listening to in the car before the filming starts. Gotta fill those commercial breaks somehow!
