Thoughts about our Employer, POLYCORP

TLDR: POLYCORP wants us dead. Don’t help them.

  1. If you die before the contract gets paid, POLYCORP keeps your stuff and your juice. A good deal for them
  2. We keep giving the Coleridge GOLD and RED, but Kassandra keeps fixing things that help POLYCORP rather than meeting our most important need, the repair bay.
  3. We know POLYCORP put three muderbots on board.

POLYCORP has a huge incentive to keep the Coleridge healthy and full of salvage - and to kill each us just before we pay back our contracts.

My suggestions.

  1. KEEP YOUR HP above 40 at all times
  2. If you give GOLD or RED to the Coleridge, insist it be used for the Repair Bay
  3. Do NOT repair the engines. Without Engines, POLYCORP can’t bring the loot home. That’s our bargaining chip

Ester spent a few hours exploring the Coleridge’s computer banks, following seemingly random threads through the inter-linked database. Her subsystem processors were able to download the available data in bulk almost immediately, but her neural net requires processing similar to a human’s brain for full understanding of the data.

Of course, her neural net is capable of this processing at a significantly increased rate over that of a human, and can bypass the normal visual and aural inputs which act as bottlenecks. However, in this particular SpaceWiki Hole Ester found herself in, she reached ancient ritual audio recordings from Earth, and enabled her aural inputs. As her emotion co-processor remained damaged from the explosion of her old ship, these ancient, primal rhythms and oddly affecting lyrics from a smooth yet emotionally strained voice started having unexpected effects on Ester’s neural net…
