Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

I’m convinced that if Jesus were here now he’d look at 99% of Christians and say “No, you’re not doing it right. The money doesn’t matter, these giant ‘church buildings’ don’t matter, robes and sacraments and hymns don’t matter, arguing over ‘faith’ or ‘the end times’ doesn’t matter. What matters is caring about your neighbor and treating them right. That’s it. That’s all you need.”

Likely a surprisingly large percentage of those 99% to whom He addressed those comments would call Him a socialist (why should we give up our fishes and loaves to feed others?) and/or demand He get sent back to the Middle East as an illegal immigrant. :disappointed:

This whack-a-doodle Christian (redundant?) violated his marriage vows and has repeatedly bald-faced lied to the public.

Why is this looney-tunes still getting coverage? Because every time he opens his mouth, more irrational crap comes flyin’ out.

They should be throwing nickels at him, like fastballs.

The books melt after 10 days, so it’s an ongoing revenue stream.

Any nutjob can find an audience… on YouTube, Twitter, etc. But to be on TV, there are a lot of other people involved. Execs, lawyers, producers, production assistants… The fact that he’s still able to get all these people on board is the truly horrifying part. But I guess he’s still got his rolodex.

His jail sentence clearly wasn’t long enough.

I was under the impression that part of his sentence was that he was no longer allowed to run a religious business etc…

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can inform us of the terms of his sentence. I thought that there was some caveat to his sentence that would prevent him from grifting on religious grounds (which is why he was doing the survivalist/prepper grift rather than re-building a congregation).

Yeah, I don’t know what happened to him after he went to jail or the terms of his imprisonment were. The best thing about the whole affair was the t-shirt of a smear of makeup in the shape of a face that said “I ran into Tammy Faye at the mall.”

Maybe they should start having the congregation check their guns at the door.

He apparently neglected to provide any proof of his claim; but if this ‘they’ are croaking his fellow fear-mongering bible-beating grifters, then ‘they’ are truly doing the lord’s work… the lord, of course, being unable to do a damn thing on its own.

Well, that’s exactly what He said the first time around, and they apparently didn’t listen. I mean, He couldn’t really have been much more clear about it.

Even if you’re an immortal, omnipotent deity, you probably get tired of repeating yourself.

Seriously … aren’t the Christians the ones with the guns? Like the ones with crowns made out of ammo?
