Michigan has my admiration, whereas my home-state Ohio only has my abject relief that I haven’t fucking lived there in decades.
How many counts of fraud? Of money laundering? More than enough to see him die in prison.
Right?
Either someone isn’t very good at multiplication, or they simply fail to realize just how severe “mere” state charges can be… especially once you have multiple charges for each individualized criminal act, for each state.
There are good reasons I didn’t reply to that…reply. Getting “sent up the river” in NY state is no walk in the park. Seems likely not everyone, even in the US, is aware of this.
It’s been pointed out before: how do you differentiate yourself as a conservative Dem when your opponent is even more conservative? What value do you bring?
In contrast, the policies that get labeled as progressive or even socialist are favored at a 70% clip, when presented without labels.
Biden’s giving basically a victory speech right now.
It’s been pointed out that Pat Toomey has announced he’s not running for re-election in 2022, is a relative moderate, has a good relationship with Biden, and represents a state with a Dem governor. Maybe he could be convinced to take a cabinet position…
Holy fucksocks…
Biden may not be anywhere near the orator Obama is (and hell - most of us aren’t!), but fuck is it ever nice to hear someone speaking in coherent and complete sentences.
The weirdest part was listening to someone who knows how to talk like a fucking adult for the first time in 4 years.
It was the same 12 years ago, after Dubya
The Republicans nominate mushmouths on purpose, to get the mushbrain vote
Right?
Even when he stumbled over his words, (and a few times, he did) Biden still sounded totally sane, lucid, and professional.
The dissimilarity was damn near shocking in its magnitude.
Well… HELLO, THERE!
And a hearty Eep Opp Ork Ah Ah!
If nothing else, he’s at least got the attitude right for the moment. This is absolutely a mandate and Republicans need to “put on their big boy pants” and accept that elections actually do have consequences, even when they lose.
Keep in mind that Biden has a stammer that he has dealt with all his life - everytime he stumbles over his words I think to myself “There is a guy that does not give up”
Biden has named Gary Gensler his advisor on Wall Street & financial regulation. Gensler is a protege of Elizabeth Warren, and a former insider who made a major course correction after the global financial crisis.
I take it as a good sign for meaningful reform in that area, too.
Great to hear him still saying “climate change” and “systemic racism.” Fingers crossed he can be pushed into significant action on both.
Fair point; I had forgotten about that.
Tomorrow I’m going to take a selfie with a bridge.
2020 is weird. Those words wouldn’t have made sense 10 years ago…
Buddy up and watch for hobos!
