Yeah, definitely a “Tennant-era” problem more than a Tennant problem per se. That said, to my reading Tennant was fully complicit in ratcheting up the intensity with everyone else. I think he could have played more subtly in places; we definitely got a lot of Barty Crouch Jr. vibes from him for much of his tenure.
I’d like Paterson Joseph myself… Or Sandi Toksvig! She’d be brilliant
