Bored US teens kill visiting Australian man

Friend, I personally have been raped, so,if its all the same to you, please realize that yes, people can in fact forgive that. Not that you could, but that’s you. Your drive to get revenge for what happened to someone else, its just not always appropriate.

Some of us realpeople out here can do things that you obviously cannot even imagine. Things like forgive those who trespass against us.

those acts of forgiveness happen anyow… no matter how strongly you opine to the contrary. It’s just, like, your opinion, man. Forgiveness happens.

I believe I covered that when I said that I believe you forfeit your rights as a human being the moment you commit murder. Act like an animal and society should then view and treat you as such.

It’s really not hard to get through life without murdering someone, people do it every day. If you can’t control those instincts then you are choosing to place yourself at a level where you must be considered/treated differently from the rest of civilized humanity.

It isn’t a question of faith, it’s a question of statistics. The courts have never failed me or been “out to get” me, yet my fellow man has. The conservative right feeds on fears of big conspiracies (the gub’ment, etc) while liberals/moderates such as myself worry more about the reality that the numbers support. My concern isn’t for shadow forces of illuminati, it’s avoiding the common idiot or criminal who is far more likely to rampage through my life than some complicated government initiative to destroy me. Simple statistics prove that.

Well then I’ll give it to you like this… If you wouldn’t want to light up someone who did something horrible to you, fine. But if it were me, I would want that person out of the equation. Removing that option for everyone just because you don’t support it… it starts to get into an almost “capital punishment Pro-Choice” situation. Personally, I support allowing victims to have the choice to support the option to negate their perpetrators of capital crimes if they wish. If not then they could make plea to the judge against it, as some do.

Personally I feel better knowing that someone with the capacity to act in such a way will never have the opportunity to do so again. And locked up forever isn’t exactly the same thing, they can still rape and murder there, still do things their dead victims cannot, etc.

I’m not talking about Illuminati-style conspiracies, I’m talking garden-variety incompetence and bias. But since you’re so big on numbers and stats, don’t you find it telling that places which have the death penalty don’t have a lower murder rate than places which don’t? You’re much more likely to be murdered in Texas than, say, Norway.

I’d be happier if someone who does what you propose is second against the wall.

Oooh, Lucky Ducky!!! Wish I could say that.

Must be their first day on the internet, huh?
